Il Carpino

“Il Carpino” located in Località Borgo del Carpino, has about 15 ha of vineyards between Oslavia and San Floriano del Collio, on the border with Slovenia.

The soils mainly consist of sandy and marl "strata" (the so called "ponca") and are optimally suitable for viticulture, giving the wines their richness in minerality.

Our house philosophy is a strong commitment to environmentally-respectful viticulture, extremely accurate management of the vines and careful tending of the wines in the cellar.

The variety of grape vines to plant are carefully chosen according to the position of the vineyards in order to have the best development of the vines. We also believe vine density per hectare is of fundamental importance and the number of bunches per vine is to be limited, in quantity, to achieve the best of quality.

We do not use any type of chemical fertilizers in the vineyard and the vines are treated with less products possible which are however harmless to the consumers' health.

Having a family run company allows us to closely follow all the different phases concerning our wines from production and cellar processes to merchandising
